We just got back from a family trip to Wildlife World Zoo, and had a great time! We drove from East Mesa, so it took about an hour. The 303 is under construction and is a big mess; we took Litchfeild Park south to the 10 on our way home and was much faster (and less confusing).
The park is a mix of old and new exhibits. We found the experience to be more intimate, allowing much closer access to the animals. We could see almost every animal in its enclosure, no seek and find or staring at a a fuzzy something in the back of a huge space. The facility is older and shows some wear but it was clean and appeared to be well managed.
Most of the trails are dirt/gravel, we wore shoes and had no issues. The park was bigger than i expected, a nice surprise. Most of the in park vending and attractions take cash only, so plan ahead for that. You can feed many of the animals, 50 cent food stations are around the park, and $5 in quarters for 2 girls and a wife was plenty. The lory-parakeet feeding was on a time schedule but free and fun.
The north-east end of the park has several new buildings with aquariums and interactive exhibits. Very nice and well done. We found several areas where they are expanding good sized new areas.
Wife found a coupon on line for $4 off each person which put our entrance fee at $76. If you add in some refreshments and change for the feedings you are at the $100 mark. We look forward to going again and seeing what is new.
