I went to the dealer today with a true interest and ability to buy a car. I had my checkbook, trade, title and info for the rebates that I qualify for with me. I have purchased three vehicles from Thorobred in the past and had good experiences. What was different this time is that they would not honor their own advertised price. Yes, they gave me that ole line of bull about "that vehicle was sold four days ago." They expected me to believe that this was not some bait and switch even though the vehicle was still being advertised on their website. I then inquired as to whether or not they would honor the other offer on their website that says they will beat other dealers ads by $1000.00. I provided an ad from a competitor. They would not honor their word in this case either. I am realistic about car prices and understand the ins and outs of a deal, but these guys certainly seem to be advertising things that they have no intention of honoring. Thorobred used to be different; sadly, they are now like the many. Plenty of better dealers in the valley, don't waste your time with these guys.
