| - Ever have an urge to step into someone else's home and be served delicious coffee/tea/pastries, and listen to awesome alternative/indie rock/pop (idk what the kids call it nowadays)? If you answered yes to that question - this is your chance!!!
Songbird has a very cool (maybe hip) homey environment. When they call it a Coffee & Tea HOUSE, it is most definitely to a very literal degree!!! Located in the Roosevelt Arts district, it's its own standalone little home - complete with a cute little patio and lawn, stringed lights, green rocking chair, wooden lawn chairs, fire place, etc. It looks like it could potentially be out of some home magazine, but rather than a polished look, it has a more lived in feel. I came to study here with some friends, and couldn't help but ask halfway through - "don't you feel like we just bombarded a stranger's house with our laptops/iPads?" If you're trying to study - there are tons of outlets inside, which is really nice!
I got the honey & lavender latte, which was a tad pricey ($6.20 for 24 oz), but they do have a rewards program. There are also TONS of loose leaf tea options which I think I'd like to try next! If you're hungry, there is a wonderful selection of pastries. All in all, very cute coffeeshop - I'm glad I stepped in!
