  • Subsecreto is uptown's secret. It's located close to First Ward Park and the new UNCC Business building, in a kind of nondescript building, but there is a sign on the outside letting you know you're at the right place. More often than not they'll have a billboard outside showing some specials :) The one time The Lady and I explored in here, the first thing I noticed was this haze. In many places, this would be unwelcome, but here... I don't know, man, it was kind of magical. The Lady and I ordered our coffee cocktails - I got a spicy one and she ordered a more floral one ( I can't remember the names!) but they were both super unique. We grabbed a couple of books off of the shelf to read as we sipped -- NOTE- There are not a ton of seats here. There's a nook that can seat maybe 3, and then maybe 3 or 4 bar seats. Grab your drink and peruse while walking around. There's a lot of trinkets to explore, including the handcrafted jewelry up at the order counter. The drinks are good, the location is secluded, and it's definitely a different vibe that doesn't exist elsewhere in Charlotte. I've also heard that there may be a secret door....
