3 stars for the food. one extra star for the atmosphere/old vegas experience. don't let the outside strip mall location deter you from trying golden steer. Inside its beautiful....old school to the nth degree. photos of rat packers are everywhere..waiters wear tuxedos...hostess is especially nice and friendly....Sinatra music plays softly on the speakers...just wish the food would live up to the ambiance they create. Not that the food is bad...but its very expensive and for what they charge it should be better! we started with an old fashion and manhattan cocktails and were all pleased. Caesar salad was made tableside and received rave reviews. French onion soup was tasty. steaks were fine.....$52 for a rib eye!! NY strip clocked in at $48! the twice baked potato was delicious while beware of the creamed spinach...my daughter thought it was "tainted". highlight of the meal was probably the bananas foster..again prepared tableside and enough to share...what a dessert! the entire experience is positive...the meal part..not so much..just typical. get off the strip just to say you've been there. Its a slice of las vegas that's hard to find anymore.
