| - This place is awesome!!! I love the pirate theme, but it also had a 50's rockabilly vibe going on. From the music, to the way the cocktail waitresses were dressed-including their hair and makeup! I am not sure if this is something they always do, or if it was just this particular night, either way it made for a fun atmosphere this past Friday night.
We arrived around 11:30 and surprisingly found parking right out front. They also have valet parking in the back. When we went inside, it was pretty busy, but my friends and I found some seats in the back room on some couches. We ordered the Scorpion Bowl, a Banana Batida and a Navy Grogg. The Scorpion Bowl was 18oz of alcohol! The only bad thing is because there were 4 people, we sucked it down pretty quickly. The Navy Grogg was also very strong, but the Banana Batida was just very sweet. It had dole whip in it, but I couldn't really taste it. Still a good drink, but not anything that would give you a real strong buzz. I was feeling pretty tipsy after all that alcohol though. Our waitress was super sweet, I did forget her name but she was awesome at explaining the different drinks to us and checking on us often.
Tip: They have dole whip you can order and eat, I guess it is on the "secret menu" so if you want it, you have to ask for it. Also, quick rant- to the people who are comparing it to "the other place" shame on you! This place is great, and so what if the tiki bar theme is not original? There are a bazillion non-original restaurants/bars/clubs in this town, get a life. Support local businesses! I will definitely be back.
