  • I visited Midwood to help settle a bet between friends on what is better... Macs or Midwood. I will start this review by saying that I tend to prefer NC vinegar-based BBQ. However, arguably my favorite part of BBQ is the delicious sides, yum! This is were Midwood let me down. While the beans were very good, the mac and cheese was dry and congealed (not very appetizing at all). We also tried the bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeno peppers. These were good, but nothing too special. We tried the Carolina Pork and the Burnt Ends. I was not a fan of the sauce on the Burnt Ends. The pork was good, we tried all the sauces and they were decent, but they were a little stingy on them. I love sauce and am use to having a squirt bottle full of sauce. Overall it was ok, but I definitely prefer Macs or 521.
