| - My sister and I bought a Groupon for a "beauty package for two". This included a 15-minute sauna, 45-minute massage, 45-minute facial, paraffin hand and feet treatments, and brow shaping.
The staff (probably Alla, the owner, and a blonde lady - possibly Russian?) were very nice and friendly for the most part.
First, we were taken to a room in the back, which was clearly normally used for colonoscopies. There was a small portable sauna in the corner that they had clearly just switched on. We were told to both strip down and go in at the same time, which was a bit weird, and were provided with one robe and one towel for after, and told "not to fight over the robe". We couldn't figure out why they didn't have two robes, but laughed it off. We ended up going into the sauna partially clothed and only lasted about 7 minutes, as it was a bit too small for two people and really just felt like a warm closet. When we got out, we fought over the robe (I lost) and went into the hallway where they told us to wait until they came and got us.
The massages were next, and they were good. The table I was on was not bolted to the floor, which was awkward when I got onto the table and it slid across the room, and my massage therapist moved it around throughout the massage to access different parts of my body. It really takes you out of the relaxation of the massage. I also feel like they could have pressed a little harder throughout the massage, although I guess it was more for relaxation than muscle treatment.
The facial was really only 10-15 minutes, and we then laid there for 20-25 minutes with our hands and feet in the paraffin.
We made light of these awkward moments for the most part, but at the end, the blonde lady came in to complete the brow shaping and asked my sister why she plucks them so much. My sister is a blonde with a very fair complexion and answered that she barely touches them, they are just very thin. The lady didn't seem to believe her and just kept telling her to stop plucking them and not to worry because "they would grow back". The lady then asked me why my sister has tattoos, and continued to tell my sister how bad they are for her and that it was time for her to stop getting them. It was very uncomfortable and incredibly rude. I guess they wanted to move on or close up as she refused to shape my eyebrows (trust me, they need them) which was very disappointing.
Overall, I would suggest this place if you are looking for a specific treatment and have a coupon, but not for a relaxing "spa" experience with a friend or family member.
