  • Postino, why are you the best? Oh? You can't speak bc you're a restaurant? That's cool, man, I will tell everyone for you. Postino rules for a number of reasons but lemme lay a few down on you really quickly. One of my favorite things about Postino is the intimate atmosphere. when I say intimate, I don't mean that like tables are weirdly close to one another or anything. I mean that the lighting and the seating and the ambiance just lends itself to making you feel comfortable and close with your pals, whether you're on a legit date, a weird is it or is it not a date date, or if you're with actual friends that you dig in a platonic manner. Another one of my fave parts of Postino is the....BRUSCHETTA BOARDS! (Insert club music here) Seriously those bad boys are da shit. $14 for four different types of bruschetta (you can mix and match or do multiple pieces of the same thing) and man is it worth every penny. I love the tomato jam and sheep's milk cheese; however, I am usually flying solo on that sheep's milk cheese vibe. It's okay though. More for me and I just chalk it up to my friends being lamey lamertons who can't handle the tang of dat sheep milk. On this most recent trip, my bf and I split a bowl of the soup of the moment, which was white bean chili w/chicken. It was tasty and served with crusty bread so yummy. Duh. We also got two bruschetta boards to split between me, him, and my other friend who joined us. They usually go buck wild on the bacon and arrugala bruschetta, which I can't vibe with on account of the whole no pork thing, but they seem to love it. We also got some of the mozzarella and tomato, the salmon with pesto, and the seasonal, which was ricotta, butternut squash, and a drizzle of pumpkin seed oil. Love tomato mozz but I always wish it had a drizzle of balsamic glaze or something. Bf dug the salmon and he surprisingly liked the seasonal one as well. Cheeses on everything were creamy and very flavorful. On this particular visit, I felt severely bad for the servers bc while the place is open until midnight, the kitchen closes at 11. They had sooo many groups walk in right before this and want to order food. They even had a couple who was seated at 10:59 (I checked bc I felt for my homegirl server) and basically demand to be fed. Like for real? You were told when you walked in when the kitchen closed and made the decision to stay and then still had the audacity to say GIMME DEM BRUSCHETTA BOARDS!? Uncool, guys, un.cool. Sooo to sum up this review which kind of went off the tracks there, great food, great service (albeit a little hipster-dressed), and great atmosphere.
