| - Love me some Touch of Thai (a name that lends itself to being thought of as more a massage parlor and less a Thai restaurant). A few months ago I'd been looking for some tasty Thai in the Phoenix area as I was bored of the ush (usual) Chinese. The first time I had Thai, I was in Queens and then more recently had some in SF, so my little Arizona girl tongue had been spoiled. That being said, I was looking for my fave dish, drunken noodles. I didn't find them by name on the menu so I tried what seemed to be the most comparable. Since then, I've been Noodle Public Enemy #1 (watch out noodles).
Tonight, I was craving my tasty spicy noodles baaaaad, guys. So we ventured over to Touch of Thai to quench the thirst (no copyright infringement, Sprite). We were seated fairly quickly but it was several noticeable minutes before anybody came over to take our drink order. Finally, a young adolescent came over to take the drink order (us splurging on a couple of Cokes), but then we were still left craving that bubbly goodness for a while. No biggie but I definitely heard a lady aggressively ask the kid if he had given us our Cokes (sorry kid...I know it's not your fault, man). We eventually placed our food order. I got my ush spicy noodles and my bf got pad thai, as well as an order of chicken satay.
Chicken satay is the bomb. Love it. Super juicy and tender and that peanut sauce would make someone with allergies take the risk. My noodles were tasty but I much prefer when the beef slices are a little thinner. No bigs but hey might as well mention it. Awesome food but tonight the speed of service of general lagging. I know they had a couple of bigger groups (6 in one and 8 in another), but overall the place was not poppin enough to excuse the wait for some things like a glass of water and a drink refill.
Tried the red curry with chicken here once. Not as flavorful as some others I've had which is quite the bummer summer, Judy Moody.
Long story not so short, dig this place but mostly because it is so close to our house.
