This was my first time in Downtown at night. I came once during the day about ten years ago with my White Trash friend, who gladly I don't associate with anymore. It's so much better at night. It has a pretty cool vibe going with the bands playing and the Hollywood Blvdesque street performers dressed as celebrities and fictional characters (I saw the most pathetic looking Superman and Chewbacca posing for photos!) along with the usual Vegas glitz.
The canopy thing is pretty cool. Adds a nice razzle dazzle to the experience.
I was really surprised to see a ABC Store there. I thought they were only in Hawaii.
Someday before I'm too old, I want to try the zip line that goes down half the strip. Looks like fun.
I wouldn't stray off too much from Fremont. Lots of scummy and shifty types creeping around. My White Trash friend would have felt right at home with them, rather than the rehab/mental ward that he is probably in right now.
