  • "Staycationed" here for the fourth of July weekend. We brought out of towners ( six people) and rented a few casitas. The casitas here are nothing short of a drab, unimpressive Phx apartment complex . The landscape surrounding the casitas is a baron wasteland and or parking lot view. It was embarrassing and not resort like feeling AT ALL! It literally looks like they purchased a rouge apartment complex next to the property and coined them "casitas". The kids pool was perfect if you have children with you, which we did. The drinks and food by the pool were extremely overpriced ,but you were forced to purchase drinks inside the pool areas as they looked through your purse and bags at the security gate and would not allow you to bring in drinks, EVEN THE $6 STARBUCKS DRINK, I had just purchased 20 feet away, two minutes before we went to the pool area OR the two beers purchased at the restaurant two minutes beforehand as well, That was absurd AND ridiculous! I did love the REFLECTIONS boutique and I bought several items of clothing there along with six pair of flip flops. The Mexican (Haciendas) restaurant was very good, but the waiter was horrible and I am pretty confident he didn't speak 20 words of English. There were 13 of us at dinner, and whenever any of us would ask him a question on the menu he would float his fingers aimlessly around the menu and say "This". He also upcharged four of us for top shelf alcohol even though we did NOT request it, a price difference of $24. He also had a few items added on to the bill that did not belong to us, but he took those off. We all had a serious distrust for him as we were leaving. I would not eat there again because of him. The spa is beautiful and offers lots of amenities, I browsed the spa store and walked around. I worked out in the workout room. Which is extremely nice. I would have loved a facial, but at over $200, (with tip) it was a little steep for even me, someone who has no problem pampering myself, but my face is rather small to spend $200 on a simple facial. The resort is huge and we chose to stay here over any other local resort because of the number of people in our group, and the activities the resort had planned for the fourth weekend, but it wasn't very much of a Wow Factor, for the price we paid. I must add, the coke products were good and i did get free refills all day at the pool after the first $5 one. Beer buckets were $30 for five beers and we went through a slew of those over the weekend. The food by the pool was pricey, but, you are starving, so you do it. The breakfast buffet was really good and not a bad price at $28 for adults and $14 for kids. Or you can order right off the menu, French toast was good and the frittata was delicious. Our waiter at the breakfast buffet was awesome. Very personable and accommodating.
