| - Modern Acupuncture has altered my paradigm about acupuncture treatments. My prior treatments were delivered in a traditional Chinese medicine shop or at a clinical doctor's office-like setting. Modern Acupuncture magical and tranquil Zen Den pairs acupuncture with a spa experience.
The simple and thoughtful decor whisper relax and rest. This is genius because for most people, the notion of having needles pricking you is the opposite of relaxation. So, why didn't anyone else think about creating a setting that helps clients relax their muscles with soft mood music, the sounds of running water, heavenly aromas and low lighting?
As you wait for your appointment, MA invites you to pick out a tea for after your treatment. Your tea is served up hot or cold as desired.
Enter the double doors that complete a gorgeous, texturiffic Mandala. You are transported into a quiet world with semi-private curtains, waterfalls, sweet aromas and comforting music. Your practitioner will invite you to place your shoes and belongings in a basket beside a chair. This chair is worth the whole treatment. It is a fully reclining chair that is more comfortable than any bed I have slept in. It massages and also provides heat. I am usually a massage fan, but I simply love lying in an incline without any added motion.
Tip: Ladies, do not wear skirts because they don't have privacy blankets yet.
I have experienced treatment from both Kiya and Erica. Both practitioners have offered precise and effective treatment for my sciatic and back pain. The slight pain of insertion quickly dissipates. The relief the acupuncture brings is immediate. If I ever pass another kidney stone, I am coming to MA. After insertion, the next 30 minutes is pure heaven. I found myself in a half sleep half awake state of relaxation. The nights after MA treatments, I slept soundly.
After treatment, I enjoyed a delicious cup of tea. I have tried the relaxation tea and the one good for the liver and kidneys. Both were delightful.
Tip: If you are planning on receiving a treatment, MA ask that you take an online health survey. You can do this at home before arrival at your leisure. This prepares them to come up with a treatment plan for you. Also, plan on staying a little more than half an hour for your treatment and tea afterwards.
I look forward to introducing friends to this ancient technique through Modern Acupuncture.
Tip: Modern Acupuncture has a no tipping culture.
