| - First, a big thank you to Stacey for organizing this event for us! It was a good time, there were lots of great beers and ciders to try. In some ways, it was well organized. Easy for drop off/pick up, hardly any wait to get in. But there were some issues too, such as very long lines to the bathroom (longer lines for the guys!!). And the bathroom lines just ran out into the area that people were walking around in. The band was good, but too loud. There was a good crowd, lots of people having fun - only a few broken glasses that I saw!
I did enjoy most all the beer/cider I tried. My favorite was Island Orchard Apple Cherry Cider. But, not all the stations advertised very well. I honestly don't know most of what I tried! All the plastic tubs holding the ice to keep the beer cold said Franks (an area beverage distributor). It seemed to me that many of the stations barely mentioned the name of the beer they served. There were plenty of buckets to dump any unwanted beer. But, I wish there had been places to rinse out our glasses. There were a couple of items (like the lemonade) that maybe didn't taste as good as they could if they were in a fresh glass.
I also wonder if the flow around the booths could have been better, or if everything seemed randomly located after having lots of beer. Maps were provided, but I'll admit that I hardly looked at it. So maybe this one's on me. And, it would have been nice to to have more places to sit. There were hardly any tables, and lots of open space.
I keep vacillating between a 3 and a 4; i'd put this at a solid 3.5. I did enjoy this event, but being honest I'm not sure I enjoyed it so much that I'll return next year. It was fun, but the tickets are pricey.
