| - So, two of our toilets stopped working within a few weeks of each other. On both, the flimsy plastic excuse for a flapper chain broke. After the first one broke, I went to our local big home improvement store, where they only sell complete toilet-gut-replacement kits. I bought one, and went to work replacing everything in the back of the toilet.
After that, I vowed to never do that again. It was really annoying. So, the next week, when our second toilet broke in the same manner, I decided to stop in Gregg's, which I had driven by for work countless times. I bought a replacement flapper with a sturdy metal chain for under 5 bucks, and went home and replaced the broken one in under 5 minutes. So easy and cheap, and now our toilet works!
At Gregg's, I met Gregg, who was very friendly and helpful. As someone who is somewhat handy but doesn't know an o-ring from a gasket, I appreciated his help. I definitely recommend this place for the do-it-yourself-er, or for anyone looking to buy the parts for a contracting job. I'm glad I went!
