  • I am reviewing it from the point of view of employment for teachers. This is the largest district in Phoenix with 28 schools.This district is the only district that I have known charges teachers $40 for their own background check from Universal. No other district charges the applicant for this process. But they won´t tell you until you get hired. I disliked it a lot. Also, this is the only district that I have known has a 11 months long contract instead of the usual 9 months. The contract does not say how many days the teacher will work. It means that they can call you to work as many days as they want and during summer? I do not know. They do not disclose this at all at the beginning of the interview, I think they should. They never say it at all. You learn about it when you read your contract. I felt it was a dirty trick and decided not to sign the contract. That uncomfortable I felt. I felt they were trying to cheat on me. I felt insulted, like I would not be smart enough to noticed. There you have it.
