This place definitely lost stars. We found out later that our insurance company doesn't cover one of the VERY expensive vaccines we needed. In an attempt to save money we called and asked if we could get a prescription written so we could get the vaccine filled and administered at our pharmacy (where it would save us a lot of money). The clinician told us they do not do this. Considering I paid for a clinician consult fee, I am pretty frustrated with this. There was no explanation for the policy or anything, just a "we don't write prescriptions for vaccines." As a healthcare provider I can attest that there is certainly no medical reason for this policy. It is definitely about the money. Additionally, my pharmacy said they have done this for other clinics before, so it isn't like it is a strange or abnormal request. I can understand if I didn't pay to see a clinician (a part of that fee by the way clearly stated that it covered all necessary follow up concerns), but I did. I rarely let single policy issues like this affect my reviews so much, especially given all the positives of this place, but this is going to end up costing us $400, so it's kind of a big deal...
