| - Let me start off by saying I have simple hair. It's long, it's straight, it's not very interesting. I don't colour it, I don't really style it. It does its thing, and that works for me.
That being said, because I think of my hair as pretty simple to cut, (and because I'm cheap yo) I don't want to pay a lot for a fancy salon. Hence... Aveda. I've been going to the training salon for years, and only twice had a bad haircut (once to which my mother said... it doesn't look much like a mullet *shudder*, and once where they took off WAY more than I asked).
It can take a while depending on who you get and the style you choose (1-2 hours), but it's a nice place to spend an afternoon, and getting a haircut for under $30? Amazeballs. The downsides? You get a new person every time, so there is no relationship building, and no guaranteed consistency. Also they are not open on Sunday, or evenings and their Saturday appointments book up WAY in advance.
Also, I love their tea. When they offer you a beverage, choose the tea!
Tip: They don't let you tip through credit card, so bring some dolla dolla bills to tip your stylist.
