I love this place! It was a perfect little dedication to the lighthouse and the legacy that it holds for not only the harbor, but Ohio itself.
Don't expect something large, elaborate or even fancy. This is pretty simply a collection of memorabilia that is in varying states of preservation. Most of it has been donated by the actual original owners or family members and it all holds a great story unique to Fairport Harbor. I tend to like old stuff and the history behind it much more than simply reading some story; getting to see the items and photos of the people involved is a great feeling.
There is a creepy surprise waiting in there--I'm not about to give any spoilers, but it was definitely weird.
The lighthouse itself is kind of creepy too. Or maybe that's because we looked at everything in the museum first. I'm not sure. Either way, it was a little stressful climbing up there, but once you get to the top and emerge, it's pretty awesome. You can see the pretty green grass surrounding the area and all of the homes and buildings around. Definitely a cool experience.
