Went last week for our annual Christmas pub date with my wife. Came for a pint of Guinness and to have a bite to eat. This is probably one of our favourite places in the area because it has a nice cozy atmosphere and great service.
This occasion lived up to the excellent service and cozy environment but the food was where it all went downhill.
We tried the ravioli along with the pork 2 ways. The ravioli was tasty though not very hot. If the temperature was better it would probably be a great dish. The pork on the other hand was a whole other story. When it first arrived we were shocked at how small the portion of meat was (one pork chop and two slices of pork belly) given the price. Being a very dark space it is hard to get a good look at what you are eating but when I took the first bite I knew something was very wrong. I spit it out immediately and turned the flashlight on my phone to realize that the meat was raw. It had basically been flash seared then thrown on a plate. Though I didn't try it, the mac and cheese also looked pretty gross and super dried out.
The waitress was kind enough to take this off our bill and even went over the top by giving us our ravioli at half price but the damage had been done. I now felt ill and we had to get the bill and leave.
Long story short, great place to go for drinks but proceed with caution on the food.
