Needed a ramen fix at 10pm on a Sunday night before we were going to embark on our journey back to LA.
At 10pm there was no wait and a nice sized table for the 4 of us. We went with the Yelp highlights, and I'd hate to mention these here again since I don't think the system Yelp is built on filters out the negative comments for items mentioned a lot and it just keeps reinforcing the highlights even though I don't like em!
Tonkotsu Ramen - Got this and asked for extra spicy sauce since I didn't see the Spicy Tonkotsu on the chalkboard right away. It was good, but honestly way TOoOoOOo salty. I didn't realize it at first cause I was so hungry, but honestly it was very salty and I couldn't finish the soup
Gyoza - Nothing special whatsoever and no special sauces for this
Kimchi Fried Rice - does NOT taste like a kimchi fried rice you'd expect after living in K town for some time
Pork Belly Bowl - Also a MEH for me. I can see how it is taste so if you're into the crispy 'chadol'/yoshinoya type of meat then you should try this. A little saucey which ain't necessarily a bad thing. I also took this one home and ate it the next day and I didn't hate it.
Overall, unfortunately for the amount of reviews this place has, it was only worth 3 stars for me. I can confidently say I am a strong foodie and have my spots in the different cities I frequent and I was hoping to find a go-to ramen spot in Vegas. With that said, unfortunately I do not think it will be Monta.
I might come back for Kung Fu next door and if my ramen craving kicks, I might give it another go.
