I was at a work function here last month and my supervisor informed the event manager that I am breastfeeding and need an appropriate place to pump milk. They said they don't have lactation rooms but would make arrangements for me. On the morning of the event I was told they had no place for me but I could use a separate bathroom away from the event and my coworkers. When it came time for me to pump I went to the designated bathroom which had NO lock, no sign on the door to tell others to stay out of the bathroom, and no chair or table so I had to stand while I pumped. Also, someone kept going into the men's bathroom next door and I was afraid they were going to be coming into the women's bathroom next. It was a miserable experience to say the least.
I'm surprised they don't have appropriate lactation places as the law requires employers to have location rooms for nursing employees which can not be bathrooms. Apparently they have no employees that are nursing children. With all the moms that come here with young children - FYI there is no place to nurse or pump.
