I've been to the Benedum for several shows and have enjoyed it each time. The performances are very high quality and there are often still good seats for a mid-price range. The interior is beautiful and it's a great place to take guests from out of town! Staff has always been friendly and helpful as well.
The reason for only 4 stars is small, but I thought others may find it useful. The upper level seats are a bit crowded, so for folks with bad knees or tall people it can be uncomfortable. I always make sure to have an end seat for my dad to be sure he isn't in pain throughout the performance. Also, recently before a show we opted in for the pre-show food and beverage package. This included an hour of open bar (beer & wine) and a few food options ($25 per person). While we figured we might spend the same on dinner out we opted for it. It was nice enough, but the food options were very basic and the room we were in felt small and simple. It was nice that they had to-go cups for us to take a drink into the show, so really the few glasses of wine made up for the ticket price, but I don't know that I'd suggest springing for the add on, especially if you aren't a wine drinker!
