| - I went here for the first time last week. Although I normally go to New York Nails in Greenfield (highly, highly recommend), I happened to be in the Waterfront and thought I'd give it a shot.
I was able to get an appointment within 30 mins (yay!), but that was about the only positive thing I experienced at Aveda.
The guy who did my nails clearly did not know what he was doing or did not care. He rushed and was very sloppy.
He filed some of my nails in a square tip, others rounded.
When he painted my nails (with my own nail polish that I brought with me), he painted my cuticles. Then, when he applied the second coat, he didn't fully cover the first coat, thus leaving lines and a noticeable difference of what had a second coat and what didn't.
A five year old could have done a better job.
Towards the end I asked if he had a hardener or a spray to help prevent chipping and to dry faster. He said "No."
I said, "What if it chips when I leave?"
He responded, "You have the bottle, you can touch it up."
Nice attitude, buddy.
All this and in a cheesy setting for $18. Yea... I don't think so.
Oh, and to top it all off, my polish chipped on almost every nail within 24 hours. It's back to New York Nails for me.
