  • My stay was really only ok. I was there for a convention in October so the best I can say was that it was convenient. But if you are expecting a luxury hotel experience (which one normally does for a $300+ per night price tag) choose elsewhere. Room: my lake view room had a great view. But that was its best feature. In order to see the view you had to have the curtains wide open but unfortunately, if you did that the direct sun beating down caused the room to be swelteringly hot. So I turned on the AC...which was broken. It cooled the room, but made a constant loud whining noise. The bathroom was very small and dated (tub shower). There was no refrigerator. There was a small coffee machine and water station. No free wifi in room and $18/day charge if you wanted to use. Service: while staff were pleasant, they did not go out of their to be informative. Example: i was asked at the front desk if i wanted to participate in their Eco program. At other hotels ive stayed in, this means no changing of the linens or towels throughout your stay, unless you ask for new ones. I agreed to the Eco program. At the Westin this means NO CLEANING AT ALL. No emptying garbage, no extra toilet paper, no making the bed. I had to call and opt back in. The repairman for the AC arrived (without notice) as I was trying to get ready for an event. I asked him to return in an hour, when I was gone. He showed up 5 hours later as I was getting ready for dinner. Frustrating! Accessibility: It's really not. There are accessible rooms, but this only means roll in shower. I need a walk in shower with regular height tables etc because of my mobility issues. Also, if you cant do stairs, you literally cannot use the main entrance and have to go to a side entrance on the basement level. If you are a guest looking to access the conference centre, you have take elevator 1 to the lobby, go down sketchy service hallway through even sketchier poorly marked service doors to elevator #2 that takes you to the bridge level. It's clear this is a retro-fit and a poor one at that. Amenities: Poor. Really lacking in casual food options. There is a sit down restaurant in the lobby and a small coffee place that closes around 2pm. After that, unless you order room service, there is nothing to "grab" unless you cross the street to the Tim Horton's. I wanted to use their "business centre" to print a photo off my phone. Apparently this was a near impossible task. It took over an hour and two employees to figure it out. There are other waterfront hotels out there. I'm definitely choosing somewhere else the next time around.
