Terrific natural history and ethnography museum! The dinosaur and ancient mammals halls were very well done with exceptional specimens and dramatic displays of same. The information panels and touchscreens were also very good. ROM's minerals and gemstones gallery was spectacular and a surprise hit with our family -- much better than we expected. Breathtaking huge geodes, varieties, colors, shapes, textures -- and then you come to the fine gemstones part and whoa - talk about major bling! The Egyptian section was well done as well, and our daughters - Egytptologists all - really enjoyed it. We only saw half of the museum - one can easily (and should) spend a day in there. The museum store is also very nice, with not so much of the usual ticky-tacky stuff; some nice gifts and souvenirs can be had. Prior to the dinosaur hall, there is a preview display of the upcoming "Dawn of Life" gallery that will showcase ROM's collection of Pre-Cambrian and Cambrian Explosion/Burgess Shale weird fauna -- can't wait and will have to come back to Toronto just for that!
