I really wanted to like this place. I really did. I was not a fan of the atmosphere was my first red flag. It was very cold. I did not feel warm or welcomed like I have at many other studios in the area.
My biggest concern was SAFETY. Now this was only an issue in Krysia's class. (All the other instructors I encountered were amazing). Krysia taught an easy flow class and I felt as if I was on the middle of a gymnastics show off performance. Students were doing poses that was obvious they were not comfortable doing or even knew how. And to top it off, there was pressure in the room to push yourself too hard and into unsafe conditions. Then.........inversions. I had just come from an inversion workshop and the main thing that was taught was safety and proper spotting. Well Krysia had students doing inversions without proper instruction for head and neck safety. She also did not spot properly. I did an inversion with her and she helped me down improperly and my head and neck were hyperextended. I was in pain for days and thought I damaged something. I looked around and while she was spotting other students she did not instruct where the head should be and if anyone would have fallen out, there necks would have been at risk for some serious damage. I was mortified after that class. I will never go back. I do highly recommend all the other instructors. I hope I can learn from them at another studio.
In yoga, safety is foremost!!! Something Krysia does not practice.
