I had to check out this aquarium because I'd passed it so many times while driving in the area and I LOVE aquariums! I decided to go after 5 to save myself some $$ and I gotta say I'm pretty happy about that. I realized that most people spend about 2-3hrs visiting the aquarium (not counting the other additional excursions). I figured for $38 I want to spend at least 4-6hrs to appreciate everything so $25 for a couple hrs seemed fair. I visited during the week on a super windy day and it wasn't too busy (YAY, I love no crowds). As two adults visiting without children we were pretty much done experiencing everything while taking our time w/ photos and videos in about 2.5hrs. If I'd paid anymore, I'd had left disappointed for sure. They have a lot of neat fish, everything seemed pretty clean when I visited but I did not care for the tropical bird section. Why? Because there's 2 tropical birds: a cockatoo that was exceptionally unhappy just screaming and obviously stressed (I know birds and have owned many for years) no toys at all for this incredibly social and intelligent animal & a toucan (he seemed ok). I don't think they should even be here really. Then again, should the fish be in the ocean instead of an aquarium? I'm not going to start this debate, just my opinion of the cockatoo..... Overall, it was a fun experience but not the most amazing aquarium I've ever seen. I wish I could've spent more time there. I will also note that when purchasing our tickets we received a $5 credit voucher for one of the shops surrounding the aquarium. Many were closed by 7:30pm though. Wish I'd known before as I had already visited the chocolate shop (definitely good stuff!) It was a nice thing they offered though. Maybe once the restaurants are open more people can take advantage of that offer. (Many places were closed due to the exceptionally windy day in the area "valley fever" look it up.)
