I'm a little bias having lived in Texas for a year.. I feel like I have had my share of excellent and renowned bbq. I came to midwood via yelp recommendation for some good bbq in the area. It was easy enough to get a table for 2 at lunch time on a Sunday. The menu is pretty big.. it's a restaurant as well as a bbq joint.. so you can get salads and sandwiches too. My friend and I split the combo platter- chopped chicken, chopped pork, brisket, and pork ribs, Mac n cheese, and beans. I enjoyed about half the plate- the brisket, ribs, and Mac m cheese were good-- not better than Texas.. but still tasty enough.
The chicken and chopped pork were so forgettable. In fact it was hard to tell the difference between the 2 chopped meats. This is definitely a rib joint! They have a limited number of beef ribs too.. but at $29/each I am skeptical! They weren't even that much in Texas.
Plenty of seating.. indoors and outdoors. Very casual place. Service was good and there appeared to be daily drink specials.
