  • The room we booked was the spa king room, with the hot tub in room. The hot tub is nice and the shower was separate, huge and great. However, while we overall enjoyed our stay, 2 Stars for the following reasons: 1. Cleanliness: noticed at check in: soap scum and marks on vanity indicating it hadn't been properly wiped. A sticky drink ring on my bedside table. Husband noticed used coffee filter in the room's coffee pot. This made me paranoid the whole time about whether my sheets were truly fresh, and if that hot tub was indeed sanitary (FTR, I smelled bleach getting in so I guess it was). Also debris by the shower on floor indicating a sloppy job cleaning. I'm not OCD or a neat freak but I do notice details and there were enough to indicate to me that whomever cleaned the room was not on point at all and for this, their nicest room? Seriously? They did send up someone to wipe the surfaces for me and he was very nice but I shouldn't have had reason to call. This room was $125 after taxes and I have stayed in $50-75 hotels that were cleaner. 2. Grout was cracked. Sink drained slowly. Bench in front of mirror was covered in scuff marks. Mattress was not comfortable- I felt every spring and did not sleep that well. Pillows were not very supportive. Not enough towels provided considering the hot tub in the room. 3. Charges: I booked this room way in advance. I gave my cc # on the phone and it was agreed that I was paying the charge right then. I checked my balance to make sure the money was there. I got a confirmation number and everything. I told her on the phone I wanted to pay for it right away so I would know it was already paid for and less stress at the day of. I thought it was paid for. It apparently wasn't and I got charged at time of check in instead, which disrupted my budgeting and caused me some strife with my spouse which kind of defeats the entire purpose of why I would ever try to plan ahead and book early. Next time I will just book through Priceline wherever I go because I never have this problem with them. I think next time we want a hot tub we will just get a cabin in the mountains instead. One note: the employees were all very courteous to us and hence the 2nd star is for that.
