This is a place I have been wanting to try since we moved to Vegas. I think I blew it by going to Bootleggers before coming here. I love Cake Boss's show so I had high hopes for his restaurant. We went at about 345pm on a Thursday afternoon. We were sat right away at a great window table that over looked the strip. It is always nice to feel like we are tourists here even though we have been here almost 3 years now. We decided to get things we could share...so of course I had to order the garlic cheese bread and Mac.n.cheese to start. Both delicious. The garlic cheese bread was served with amazing marinara sauce. The mac.n.cheese was creamy had pancetta and peas with a crumb top on it. Delicious. Made the way mac.n.cheese should be...creamy goodness. For our main dish we ordered Buddy's favorite pizza and Bolognese. The pizza was yummy, sausage, grilled onions, fennel and 4 different types of cheeses. The crust of the pizza was cooked to perfection, a little crispness, but still soft and very tasty. The sausage was perfect with all the onions and cheese. The only item I was not impressed with was the Bolognese...lack of flavor, creaminess, and the spaghetti noodles...we're just store bought...I guess since he is a baker...I expected homemade noodles...so I was a little disappointed...and the Bolognese I had at Bootleggers blows this out of the water. It was also $23 for a bowl the wasn't even big enough to feed my man. Had we only ordered this we would have left hungry....and we probably would not ever go back. But luckily we ordered other good dishes...so if we happen to be at the Venetian again and are craving italian...we would go again. I only gave them a 3 because I was disappointed...but I think I just set my bar too high!
