I am very torn on this review! We live in Surprise...less than an hour from this resort. Our intentions were a 1 night staycation. ..3 adults 4 kids....hoping to be poolside most of the time. We got there an hour early...1 room was ready, the other was not. We got adjoining rooms so no big deal they were going to text us when it was ready. Got the kids their scavenger hunt lanyards..super cute idea and FUN staff very kind! Headed to the pool...nice atmosphere! There were a few seats left, a DJ, great time. Food and drink were very - very pricey. We were able to charge everything to the room no need to carry money around. Come 7pm...the lazy river and adventure pool closed. This was kind of ridiculous..check in is not til 4...our 2nd room was not ready til after 5. Latecomers do not get to enjoy this wonderful evening downtime. It's nice to enjoy this when the sun is down especially for the young kids. We were told we could all use the adult pool which wasn't much of anything. They really are kid friendly but closing the pool at 7 in 111' weather...not too smart. We went to the front desk to check into room #2....get up there and we are now locked out of both rooms. Back down to the desk...this happened 4 times. The 5th time we were told the keys would be brought up to us ..never happened. Enjoyed the Smores ...that was fun. Next day was way different. Got to the pool at 11...not a seat in sight. Didn't matter covered or uncovered= none. It's very clear people toss multiple pool towels down and hoard the seating. Lazy river...packed. not enough tubes...they were asking every other person to give theirs up as you pass the entrance. We couldn't get a tube so we enjoyed the lazy river on foot til a raft became available. Nope...all not on a raft told to get out. Massive line waiting for tubes. The float up bar broke over 3 times due to cash register problems. This part of the stay really sucked. They asked for our room # at pool gate but never used their computer to verify it...probably alot of non-hotel guests, getting by constantly. On a good note that day we enjoyed a very relaxing yoga class. Kids turned in their papers for scavenger hunt pins and felt very important. Locked out of the room a few more times. My PRO list is clean room...nice staff...good focus towards kid travelers, perfect grounds, variety. My CONS list is parking is a year away from the hotel, bad key cards, not enough seating at the pool, not enough rafts for lazy river. For what you pay per night the room should feel a little more 'resort-ish' . Never got our 'go green' $5 vouchers per room. good resort but depends on what your going for...and when. If your coming to rest and relax other than the pool features..this is a nice place. Coming for water to beat the heat? Look elsewhere. Going to try Squaw Peak or Gainey next time :) gave it a 4 stars based on rooms and grounds are very clean...well kept..overall enjoyed it.
