CHECK YOUR BILL!
I cannot overstate this enough. I spent a solid 6 months working with this terrible billing office. It began when I got our first bill around November. The billing office had not sent any of my dates of services (DOS) to my insurance. I tried calling and since they are located in Florida and they were closed by the time I got off work, this task became very difficult. I couldn't leave a message because their machine was never working. After a few days of this I called the Doctors office and was able to get a direct number to the billing office (which I wish I had saved because it would have made the next 6 months much easier). So, I called the office. A rude lady answered and I asked them if they would please send my DOS to my insurance. She said they would.
I get my next bill. I now have new charges, since we are continuing with treatment. My original DOS has now been sent to insurance (Great!) but the next date has not. This lovely game continues for SIX MONTHS! I finally resorted to writing letters. I paid each Date of Service as it was sent to my insurance. I am happy to pay my bill but I will not pay what I am not supposed to pay.
I had to keep calling my insurance company to check on specific dates of services to make sure they were sending the information. Sometimes they had and sometimes they had not. The final straw was when I got an EOB (explanation of benefits-a form you get from your insurance) that said a certain procedure was to be billed 0.00 to me and they billed me the full amount even though their bill stated they had sent the DOS to insurance.
My mother and sister have a combined 40 years experience billing for doctors office's-including billing my specific insurance. What this organization is doing is extremely wrong. They are billing people without sending the information to their insurance in the hopes we will not notice and just pay the full amount. I hate to know how much they screw people over who don't know the system. If you say you accept an insurance you MUST bill all the dates.
The last thing you need when going through fertility treatment is to be swindled and cheated out of money.
STAY AWAY!!
