Who would have thought eating ice cream would bring a person warm memories of their childhood? I used to eat Thrifty's when I was a kid and it was sold at Rite-Aid. Years later they finally opened up a store front and I didn't have to go shopping around at gas stations! Yay!
Location: Great! Right next to the Desert Breeze Park and near some local restaurants if you want a nice dessert after dinner! Always parking in the parking lot, never too busy.
Flavors: Lots! When I like something I don't shop around! Its something about this ice cream that is just so good! I would buy a pint or quart of Thrifty's to stock up on at home verses going to the grocery store and buying a jug of ice cream! (Favorite Flavors: Cotton Candy and both Mint and Chocolate Chip, however many other great flavors.)
Store: Never busy. Which makes me a little disappointed because the ice cream is so good. However the atmosphere isn't very warm and welcoming. Though the staff members are nice, it just lacks decor and an ice cream shop ambiance. It looks very clean and I won't let the atmosphere deter from coming here I just think it has huge potential to really thrive and the owners aren't capitalizing on it.
Seating: Couple of tables and a few chairs inside, none outside. Preferably take it to go and either eat at home or take it to the park is my suggestions.
Price: Reasonable, but wish they were a few bucks cheaper. Now-a-days with there being so many ice cream places I think pricing makes a difference on where people want to go. However being that this is so close to my house and I truly love my Chocolate Chip flavor, I will stop and buy a pint or quart (ranging from $5-$10 estimate) every once and a while. If I was buying for me, plus a family worth, then the total may alter how much we would come.
Hours: Close at 10pm daily!
