Called to make a new patient appointment. The first # I called (published on their site) I was told was incorrect. The 2nd number I got, I was put on hold 12 minutes- never once did they check in with me. Finally I got a girl who felt less than welcoming. She fumbled taking my insurance & put me a a long hold again while she got someone to help her. Then she says "so what are you being seen for?" Ummm, I just told you." She says well I have to put down that you have a pain or medication refill?0. I just said rx refill. After thinking about this I called back a week later & once again held for 15 minutes. The lady I spoke with informed me that they don't do physical or well woman exams 1st visit. I told her that was extremely odd to me. She says "well you will have to pay $75 on your first visit but on your second you won't be charged" I said " my insurance covers well woman & physical exams & I shouldn't have to pay anything" she said that she will talk with dr. O'connor to see if she will make an exception & do the new patient exam but I would still have to pay for her to write me any refill rx's. That seemed ridiculous to me. If my insurance covers me for the reasons I was being seen, than why couldn't they schedule me? It seems odd on my 1st appt that a doctor would just write out refills for me without assessing me???!!! I went with my gut feeling & canceled. If it was this much trouble just to get an appointment, I can only imagine what the appointments themselves would be like!!! Red flags!!!!
