| - To drive all the way from Lawrenceville to Coraopolis, one must really love a thrift store. For years, I made the pilgrimage without complaint, getting lost almost every single time. Then, they "remodeled," and were closed for months. My heart broke into a thousand little pieces every time I caressed one of my amazing finds from the Coraopolis SVDP and thought about how different it would be when they re-opened. I was hopeful, more space, better stuff, something new? Alas, it was not to be. The store looks almost the same after the remodel, but the prices all skyrocketed because someone has to pay for it. Gone are all the funky, weird, magical treasures I would find there. They have been replaced by the drones and clones of the same garbage you can find anywhere else. The strength of this store was the uniqueness and antiqueness of its items. Without that, it is a hollow shell that's just too far away.
There are still occasional good finds, and the furniture selection remains one of the better ones in the city, so I will give three stars, but this went from the top "must shop" thrift store on my list, to very near the very bottom.
