I decided I needed an updated look for the summer and wanted my hair short. I usually go to the Aveda Institute for a wash/trim/blow dry and only once have a received an okay haircut. Most of the time, I'm very happy with the new look and feel pretty.
I was nervous about this drastic change so I decide to book an appt at a posh salon. I am not especially picky about my hair. But I walked out with a little girls haircut. It was awful. I thought when I went home, I would just wash it and style it myself... and it would be fine. Nope. My low maintenance summer haircut was very very high maintenance. In the end, out of frustration, I would toss it into a bun or put a bunch of braids in my hair.
Instead I made an appt for an Aveda, hoping they could correct the haircut without removing too much more hair. Amanda was my stylist. Her supervisor came by frequently to help her a number of times during the cut. I didn't get a chance to say this at the time, since I wanted to go home and try to style it on my own. But this haircut is AMAZING. A bit of product, blow drying with a round brush and it is smooth with volume and movt. Air dry and it still looks good. I can pull it back and the bangs look good.
Haircut was $40. A third of the cost of the salon cut which I hated.
