| - I was really excited to join EOS Fitness because of all of the classes that they offer. They really have a wide variety of classes all day long, so you can definitely make it work with your schedule and the teachers are all very nice. However, after my experience with this gym, I would never recommend that anybody work with them. This company has not been honest with me, somebody at the gym actually FORGED MY SIGNATURE in a membership agreement, and they have not handled this situation with good customer service at all.
I did my week long trial membership in August, but was traveling for most of August and September and didn't get a chance to look into signing up. A sales rep contacted me and said that if I signed up that day, I would only have to pay $1 and all other sign up fees would be waved. He informed me that it would be $17.95 monthly (more than the $10 they advertise), but he did not inform me that there is an extra fee of $39.99. All of this was over the phone, and I never signed anything (I literally wasn't even in town to sign anything) and never agreed to or was made aware of any extra fees or policies (the cancellation policy, etc.).
Luckily, my credit card company flagged the charge and it was declined. However, now I am receiving bills from their company with extra late fees and service fees added on, and have been getting the run around from the company about having the charges removed. I told them that I'm happy to pay the 17.95 I agreed to pay for the month of September, but not the fees for anything that I did not agree to. The company sent me an agreement with my name signed on it that was not my signature. It was forged.
I've tried dealing with all of the employees politely, and simply want this to be handled in a fair way. However, the company has not provided good customer service, and has not dealt with this situation properly. When I called their financial company, I was informed that I needed to speak with the local branch. When I called the local branch, I asked to speak with a manager and was instead transferred to the sales rep that helped me with my policy. He tried to explain away the forged signature stating that it was a "temporary signature" until I was able to come in and sign the documents. Well, I never signed any documents, and I am not willing to sign the documents because of the hidden fees and policies. I have called in several times and still have not been allowed to speak with a manager. They claim that a manager will call me back, but it has now been over three days, and I've only heard from their billing company about more charges.
To top it off, I just received another bill for the membership fees in October. I called their billing department, and they told me that they are unable to cancel my membership without thirty days notice in spite of the fact that they have no membership agreement from me in the first place.
I'm one to be patient and give people the benefit of the doubt, but this simply is not acceptable. Not only has this been time consuming having to make multiple calls and deal with multiple different people, what they are doing is not legal. Even if the company is trying to look into the situation, I should have been contacted by a manager, and received an apology from both the sales representative and a manager rather than being asked to deal with the sales representative that used a false signature. I'm extremely disappointed with this situation, and do not recommend that anybody work with this company. They obviously are not honest, and do not provide good customer service or correct their mistakes.
