  • We used Smelly dog for daycare and a few small purchases. After moving to the Valley, I wanted to provide my young dog with daycare a few days a week. Smelly dog was one of the few options in downtown so we decided to try. My dog came for 11 or 12 days of daycare. There was never anything wrong with this place but I never quite felt right. My dog never wanted to go which should have been a clue. The staff never seemed to even recognize her, I got asked at least 3 times if we had been there before. They didn't provide me with a tour so I'm left to trust that the place is clean and appropriate for daycare. All you can see when you pickup/drop off, are dogs in a very small "waiting pen" of sorts. I surely hope they aren't there all day. They also ask you to write down what time you'll be back to pick them up. I've come to pick up my dog 45 min before the time I put down and she was already (or still?) in the waiting pen area. What was I paying for? Her to sit in this box all day with several other dogs? If not, she should have still been playing in the other "area" if I unexpectedly picked her up so early. The prices were okay, with the package. However we've found a "camp" that is cheaper, includes cameras, and my dogs can't wait to get into each time we go. I would suggest you look around a bit before committing to Smelly dog. There are other options.
