| - Amazing food! My hubby was stationed in Rome, Itally where he fell in love with the fresh flavors of bruschetta. He has often talked about how much those flavors forever changed his idea of what Italian food should be and had not been able to find that flavor again in the states - until last night at Villa Italia! I would recommend bringing friends because it is a big serving of food (also ask for a little extra bruschetta toppings, they are sooooo good and there was just a tad too much bread to toppings ratio IMO).
Anyway, we also ordered their Mediterranean Pizza (not the salad one, the other one with eggplant) and it was so good - thin crust with puffy, crispy edges. Perfect, best pizza I've had in a long time. We'll definitely be back! My 3 yr old wolfed down the kids penne, so I stole a bit from him and loved the red sauce, even asked for a side of it to have with the pizza. Everything I tried was delish - we are so happy they came in to Spinato's old place on Glendale, Villa Italia is so convenient and the food is way better now (but don't tell Spinato's I said that).
PS - In spite of there being only one server, we didn't wait long, but you might want to get the guy that was hanging around the entry to actually do something useful. The lovely server was working solo while he just stood around not doing anything (it was annoying but I'm ignoring him in the review rating because you are all just starting out).
