Stumbled in here while on on break during a split-shift at work. It was payday today, but I really didn't have any intention on buying anything (was / am currently reading david copperfield, had it with me while I browsed).
The first thing that struck me was the orderliness of the place. It's a pretty tidy shop for a small chain / independent looking place. Everything is categorized by subject, there's an A-Z general literature section, and the sort of fanned out tables near the entrance as in a chapters or indigo. As the other reviewer mentioned, CHEAP. I had to force myself to stop looking up recent purchases so I could see just how much money I wasted going to Chapters (pretty awful/funny, the chapters I've been going to is within a lob of this place).
Bought a copy of Dante's "Inferno" and a print version of "Cyanide and Happiness". Inferno had been on my list for a while and for $4 I had no qualms about breaking my no-buy policy today. The Cyanide and Happiness was by pure chance, $7 for one of the greatest web-comics caught my eye immediately. The clerk was pretty helpful as well (moreso to the customers who came in after me, but a pleasant guy nonetheless). They have 3 locations, the others being a fair size larger. I greatly recommend this pseudo-chain to anyone who wants to buy books without damaging their ability to pay rent.
