  • My boyfriend and I spent two years at the district. We rented the larger one bedroom (900 sqft) that was big enough for two adults, a turtle, a dog, and eventually a baby. I would say we enjoyed our stay. The apartments are well designed, big closets, high ceilings, and shiny newish appliances. In Tempe or Phoenix these digs would have been out of our price range. At the rate rent increases we would have been in the same boat if we had stayed. Maintenance usually comes within a week of your request, weekly pest control, and a pretty responsive team at the office. The office ladies are pretty professional. I have never had any communication problems with staff. The neighbors are hard working people. They were quiet during the week and had the occasional party on the weekend. We only had one issue with theft when I left the garage door open. But the complex Kids leave their bikes out without any issue. Parking is a little cut throat by the 1-2 bedroom buildings, be prepared to pay for a spot or park three buildings over. As for those broken front gates, meh. Maybe they should pick a different type of gate instead of fixing one that always breaks. If you work nearby or in the east valley, are looking for someplace quiet, or if you want a safe place for the kids the District might be for you. If it weren't for the continual rent increases and ridiculous commute (to downtown Phoenix) I would have stayed gladly.
