| - I discovered this place after falling in love with Art of Flavors, next door..go here after 1pm so you can grab dessert there afterwards, if you have any room left that is!
My husband got the wood-fired chicken arepa and it was delicious! We also shared 3 empanadas--a beef, a shredded chicken, and a black bean and cheese.
In the arepa, the chicken was perfectly seasoned, and complimented by the sauce and veggies. On it's own in the empanada, the wood-smoked flavor was a big too strong for my tastes, and I found myself using lots of their delicious hot sauce to mellow it out. The black bean and cheese was more mildly flavored. I liked that it was whole beans vs mashed like I had been expecting. My favorite of the three was definitely the beef! It was so tender if was falling apart but it seemed like a combination of shredded and ground beef, and it was fantastic!!
The restaurant is counter service, and the employees were extremely friendly. They weren't busy (we were there early) and they brought our food to the table. It was bright and airy, and spotlessly clean. They also have a nice little patio for seating.
We will be returning, I can't wait to try that delicious beef in an arepa!
