2016 Yelp 100 Review Challenge 83/100
Waited a while to write a review because this place is near and dear to me. I'm not religious or Catholic (they do have a Catholic church) but earlier this year I started going here every weekend with my family. It's become a weekend tradition. The church is beautiful. It's small but it has a welcoming vibe and strong spiritual presence. Prayers I've prayed here, have been answered. Miracles beyond my understanding.
At the entrance of the church, there's a prayer request book. I love that. I'll also look at other people's prayers (not to be nosy) but to pray for them as well. You never know what people are going through. This tops my list of favorite places.
It's also a non-profit that shelters and transforms the lives of abused or at risk children. They also collect old cell phones to restore and give the teens to use. Love that.
THRIFT SHOP:
They used to have a car museum which felt like it was haunted (lol) but now that space holds the thrift shop. Sorry, car museum is no longer available. Service is always friendly here.
I'd rather donate my things here than Goodwill! Here the profits go to supporting the children. I know Goodwill is convenient but they resell it for profit, the workers get minimum wage while the CEO gets six figures. (sorry venting a little, always do your research when you're donating).
Once in a while, I'll see weddings here. It's a beautiful place. I think it was also featured in the movie Fools Rush In.
