| - I recently purchased a Groupon for One Full Set of Mink Lashes with Optional 4-Week Fill. I redeemed it last week and let me tell you it was the WORST experience I have ever encountered. Rhonda, was the eyelash extension "specialist", she put my eyelashes through hell. I have had eyelash extensions in the past and this experience was nothing in comparison.
Rhonda was so rough, rushed through the whole thing and the end result I looked like crap. The whole process toke about forty five minutes (a full set should take about 2-3 hours), she rushed through the whole thing. I went to my car after the service was done and noted my lower lashes were glued to the top lashes, and I could not remove them with my finger. I also felt like something was in my eye but couldn't see it. I rushed home to get in front of a mirror because I was so anxious and scared. As soon as I got home, I was right, my lower lashes were glued to my top! I had to literally cut my lashes to completely open my eye. Then I looked a little closer, and saw that she glued one lash to the upper inner lid!!! I had to pluck that. I was in complete pain and full of stress.
I called the salon shortly after to speak to the manager a.k.a Armis (the owner), at first she was not helpful at all. I asked for a refund but she told since it was groupon she was unable to give me a refund. She also mentioned that groupon takes half of the amount the service is listed for, and basically they hardly make money off of it. She then offered for me to come in the next day (Saturday) to get a mani/pedi then we would discuss the next steps to make it up for me.
That night I got in contact of the woman (Shanice at Modlash CLT, NC) who did my lashes previously and was AMAZING she worked me into her schedule for the next day for a removal and a new full-set. Saturday morning, I visited Shanice, she was unable to remove all the lashes because of the glue that Rhonda used. Shanice thought it was hair glue that Rhonda used! Which should never be used for eyelashes. She was only able to remove some lashes since they were so embedded into my natural lashes and did not feel comfortable proceeding with a full set until I got checked out by an ophthalmologist. At this point, I was beyond stress since the situation progressively gotten worse. After leaving Modlash, I went and saw on ophthalmologist on call, and luckily no damage was done to my eye but it appeared that the glue seemed like superglue!
I then followed up with Armis at the salon. I ended up only receiving a pedicure since the nail technician only had time for one service. At this time, I was beyond annoyed with this whole situation. Once I got finished, I checked out with Armis. I explained to her everything that I went through that morning and it seemed like she did not take me seriously. She did not want to see all the pictures that I have taken. She then offered me to come back in for a manicure and a facial type service. I went ahead and booked the appointment just to get out of the horrible unprofessional environment. I will be calling to cancel it.
The whole salon is so unprofessional! The service that they provided was a complete joke. Rhonda should not be handling eyelash extensions, I really question if she had the proper training or certification. Thank you Armis salon for providing me damage to my natural eyelashes. This salon is a complete waste of time. If you are looking for great eyelash extensions contact Shanice at Modlash -- that will be the only place I go to!
