  • Pretty sure I missed the hype train on the float. My fiancé bought a float for him and I for my birthday. We ended up going a week later for his birthday. We were so very excited. Like little kid excited to go to Disneyland in the morning. We got to our appointment time an hour early. I will say, the employees were very inviting and answered all our questions while we waited. Once it was our time to float, they walked us through everything and we were sent to our private float rooms. Still very excited at this point. I followed all the steps I was given before jumping in the pod. Once I got in my float pod, I thought "okay this is insane.. you literally have no choice but to float!" It was a pretty cool feeling at first. I myself being 9 months pregnant, was told this was the greatest thing for pregnancy too so I stayed open minded. While in my pod, my feet and arms did hit the side walls from floating around and each time they did, they were caked in dry salt that was left on the sides. I didn't think too much of it since they do use a good 1,200 pounds of salt in the pods. As the float went on, I couldn't help but notice how dirty the pod was. There was dirt and people's hair and all kinds of things floating in the water with me.. I was instantly grossed out. Come to find out, they only "filter" the water after each float. In between people. People who are most likely always nude in these pods. I couldn't fathom the idea that my nude body was just in there where everyone else was. I jumped out and instantly took a shower. Mind you, I made it a good 30/35 minutes too. After I cleaned myself in the shower, I looked around the pod and you could see layers upon layers of salt on the side walls of the pods. I wiped my hand and it was a pound a salt and the salt wasn't white, but a dirty brown. So my question is, do they ever scrub these things clean? After sitting in the room until my hour was up, I watched the filter turn on.. some filter. It looked like it was just pumping water into the pod. The water was barely moving as well. Now as I write this review, I'm extremely ill in bed with some kind of cold as is my fiancé. We're both very healthy people who never get sick but we've felt horrible the day after our float, I even had my fiancé rush me to the hospital because my baby wasn't moving in womb. I'm glad there are people who enjoy their floats and get the most out of them.. I just wish people would have told me how unsanitary they are. I would have never gotten in there specially being pregnant. I hope they take better precautions to clean out the pods after each float. I mean, women who tan in a tanning bed, those beds are scrubbed after each use. It's a lot worse when you're floating in a body of water that has god knows what in it floating with you. Such a shame because I really wanted to enjoy this. (Side note, my fiancé also claimed his pod was nasty and caked in all sorts of stuff as well. Wasn't just me. And no, were far from germaphobes too!)
