| - It is funny how people can see the same show and come out with totally different opinions. I've seen it time and again and it still cracks me up. I'm going to be in the minority on this one!
I did not want to see Criss Angel Believe because I'd seen a few clips here and there and I thought he was creepy - just zero interest. BUT, we got free tickets to the show through MyVegas and I decided what the heck, I'll see almost anything for free. I'm really glad I did!
For a complete description of the show, read Leesa B's review... she nailed the play by play. I'm pretty sure we were at the same show. But, I saw it completely differently. First, I expected a Cirque show since it was touted that way and I'm pretty tired of Cirque shows, so the fact that the "cirque" part of the show was extremely minimal was a plus for me. I expected something really dark and creepy, and I found the bawdy humor funny and I laughed quite a bit. I thought it was reminiscent of Zumanity but not to the serious depth that Zumanity takes the innuendo and flat out sexual situations.
I agree that the "14 year old" seemed a little young for the jokes, so that part was a little awkward, but not seriously so. The part I liked the least was the talk talk talking and the video clips went on just too long. If they reduced that and through in a couple more illusions, I think this show would be great. As it was, I enjoyed the illusions - our favorite was when Criss showed up in the audience not far from us. I'm still curious about that one! But, I agree more illusions in an illusions act would be a good idea.
The theater is BEAUTIFUL and as usual all of the seats are great.
I was torn between 3 and 4 stars so I'm more of a 3.5, but I rounded up instead of down just because of all of the 1 stars out there! For some reason, I just enjoyed it and I'm glad we went for it. Maybe it was the 24 oz Lynchburg Lemonade?
