I have been going to this area for such a long time but unfortunately there is a Starbucks right across the street and that is where my coffee business was dedicated. But now, I am sick of Starbucks and ready for a change so I decided to try out the competition ; the Canadian owned Second Cup. It's always nice to support local and Canadian businesses!
I have come here before and have never been overly happy with my drinks; the lattes are too sweet and nothing tasted like what was advertised. However, this time I went for the "matcha green tea chiller" and I am in love! I have also tried and love the Italian sodas and the white hot chocolate. If you are looking for a drink to beat those winter blues I really do suggest the white hot chocolate, it is heavenly.
The store itself is clean and well thought out, lots of seating, magazines for guests to browse through and products available for sale on racks in the middle of the store.
The service was okay, the girls were a little young and gave off that hipster "we are too good for you" vibe. I wasn't really impressed with this but I dealt with the staff for under five minutes so it wasn't a big deal.
What I really enjoyed is the fact that all of their coffee beans are fair trade and they are ALL advertised as such.
Starbucks, take notes.
