| - This place has been around for a while and has good reviews so I finally decided to stop in for a morning cappuccino. My first impression was positive, seeing the reasonable prices, and actual grinders and espresso machines.
When we got down to business though, I was let down. The barista talked a good talk, and when I ordered a cappuccino he told me he "loves making" them and that they are "an art". But he proceeded to use a shot that had already been sitting, and I got a drink that was almost entirely foam. Also, the coffee was bitter, and I can't say if that was because it's a dark roast, or because of his technique in pulling the shot, since I did not see him pull a shot. A lot of places use dark roasts so that when they add syrups you still taste the coffee.
In conclusion, Coffee Rush is on par with Starbucks and at a better price, but Liberty Market makes a better espresso and cappuccino (if you aren't into drinks with flavors). But I will give Coffee Rush one more chance and make sure to get a fresh shot and mention the milk-to-foam ratio. If it improves, I will update my review.
