| - What a great store with friendly, knowledgeable staff!
So, I'm a brand new cyclist. I want to try and get in to the sport so I can start doing some sprint tri's. I acquired a beginner's road bike elsewhere but really wasn't sure the best way to get started. I needed the bike to get looked at though and see what would be the best steps going forward.
So, I brought my bike in, talked to the people, and eventually had Manny, one of the technicians, help me out with everything. I explained to him my situation. I had read about their desert survival package on their website and he explained to me the details of it. I immediately saw the benefits of it considering how new to the sport I am.
After looking at the bike, he fortunately had some time then to start showing me the basics around the bike. He changed out the tubes for the heavier duty desert survival package tubes and included the lining. The whole time, he kept up a running commentary on what he was doing, how he was doing it, and what tips for me to eventually replace my own tubes when I get a flat. He basically gave me an impromptu beginner's lesson on everything and I can't appreciate it more. He also looked at the rest of the gears and screws and made sure the seat height was appropriate for my height.
I eventually also got a water bottle holder, a water bottle, a portable pump that hooks on to the bike, and a small pouch that goes under the seat to hold spare tubes and a tool kit.
I feel a lot more comfortable now with how the bike works and I can't wait until this weekend to finally go on my first ride in Arizona.
They have completely hooked me as a customer and I plan on going to them for all my future cycling needs and telling all my (two) cycling friends about it.
